Thinking about tradition as a lens. Beyond institutionalized traditions (e.g. civics, religion) there are quieter traditions like genre that contain a history of people approaching situations with a particular set of tools they inherited from the people before them. And you can read texts this way.

last week, a 15-year-old joined my web serial's discord serial and began trying to explain my book to me. When we started asking about his background, it emerged that he has been gaming since age 2 and spent 2,500 hours in a specific Roblox mod.
