#WriteStuff I'm on a Widow's Bay Weekend planning committee. We're setting up a huge weekend party in May in Rockport, MA, where part of the show was filmed. I live in Rockport. Season 2 begins filming here in March, 2027. I'm psyched! I haven't been this excited about a TV show since The X-Files.

Thanks! That makes sense. I hadn't thought of using a subplot that way. I don't often use flashbacks but TRAILER TRASH ZOMBIES uses suspense & premonition of the future to drive the plot forward. Gabrielle is the one with the ability to see into the near future. She hates it. #WriteStuff

#WriteStuff Gabrielle & Ambrose (Ethan's friends w/benefits) as well as rednecks Gary, Joe, and Melissa need well-developed subplots so they aren't 2 dimensional. Gabrielle & Ambrose are important to Ethan. I need to flesh them out. The rednecks provide comic relief since they are incredibly stupid.

#WriteStuff I'm loathe to mention her name since she's such a transphobe, but J. K. Rowling's character Severus Snape's subplot in the Harry Potter books in my opinion was fantastic. He was my favorite character. A fascinating, flawed, and troubled man.

#WriteStuff A3 Subplots could enhance the story by seeing the same issues from different character's points of view. For instance, Ethan sees Gabrielle space out at Zomnibus, the zombie rave in Salem, MA. From her POV, she's seeing a horrifying vision which will happen shortly and she's terrified.

#WriteStuff OMG, those Game of Thrones books! I couldn't keep up with the subplots in a A Song of Ice and Fire when I first read it. Plus, all the books have pages with character names since no one can keep track of them all. No wonder I got confused. LOL

I'm sure I'll get some good tips. Kevin is very well developed. The other characters? Not as much. Subplots may be able to help me do that. I don't want to be like Stephen King who creates so many intricate subplots his books are now 500 pages long. LOL #WriteStuff

#WriteStuff I noticed with TRAILER TRASH ZOMBIES (my WIP) I haven't developed my subplots & I need to know how to do that without taking away from the main plot. I guess I weave as I go since I don't know what else to do. I also don't know how far to take a subplot. I want it to enhance the story.
