why would they spread misinformation like this

"Arcturiadoom is designed for four 13th-level characters, and adventurers who defeat the monsters on this level should gain enough XP to advance halfway to 14th level. The lich Arcturia, who dwells on level 23 of Undermountain, is one of Halaster's most accomplished apprentices, arguably the most powerful of the Seven, and a master of transmutation magic. Arcturiadoom is her personal retreat ("doom" being an archaic term for a lord's domain)."

Anyway Maximus was my favorite character and storyline in S1, I'm very nervous given how much more fan attention has gone towards ✨️The Ghoul✨️. But the contrarian in me gets suspicious whenever a show/movie/game etc seems to REALLY want you to like a character AND (crucially) think they're cool

Fallout season 1 was such a well-crafted blend of homages and new character stories....and then the first 15 min of s2 throws a dizzying number of beloved easter egg references to the games that honestly just comes off incoherent

ONGOING PROJECT; #ROTWIP A few years ago, I started writing a gothic horror novel. I wanted to explore the parasitic nature of colonialism through the POV of a Regency-era heiress of color (and see how far I could go with a Filipina-British protag).

moodboard for gothic horror WIP featuring nature & plant imagery, human anatomy, blood!, a vaguely Regency era non-couple, and a classic Apollo and Daphne sculpture (detail) image.

"You find truth in observation," she said in agreement, watching the syringe fill with a rich, azure color. She held it aloft, eyeing the measurement in the light from the window, then turned that same calculating stare on him.
"Tell me, have you ever seen a man's soul?"

It's #MementoMoriMonday! One side of this figurine features a human face crawling with worms and insects; the other side shows a skull - the flesh eaten away. Date unknown. This unusual object is from the Wellcome Collection in London.

A small ivory skull. One side shows the skeleton. The other shows the fleshy face with worms coming out of it.
