I started ugly-crying (in relief) a little bit ago when I saw where the GoFundMe was at. I cannot thank you all enough. Oh my god, we’re going to be okay. Two days ago I was wondering how we were going to stretch our pantry two, three more weeks because we couldn’t afford any more groceries.

Please help my colleague Sophia - things are a struggle for so many of us in this current moment, and it is important that we take care of each other!

If you can donate, I and my husband would be incredibly grateful. We've spent these last two months trying to find every way to save money, to the point of rationing our prescriptions. We just need some help to tide us over until we find sustainable incomes that allow us to be self-sufficient.

Hey y'all. I'm in a really bad place financially and really need help. If you can donate anything, it'd be appreciated. I and my husband are struggling to pay for food, hygiene products, and medicine. I'm working two jobs right now, and it's still not enough. gofund.me/a7cadcf04

We are completely blown away by all the support we've received since this went up yesterday. Thank you so, so much to everyone who's donated or shared this. We still have some gap before all our bills are covered but we've almost closed the gap on essentials.

Outside of durable goods, it’s even easier to find the same concept. You usually can find a discount if you buy in bulk. If you don’t have the liquidity to buy in bulk, you pay more for the same quantity over time.

open.substack.com/pub/holograp... I wrote this a few years ago and it mostly holds up. Zucker sucks, the desistance studies suck, and anything except affirming care is pseudoscientific bigoted bullshit.

One of the funniest recurring things in my life is people assuming I’m much higher status than I actually am. Y’all, when I first started getting attention on the internet for my political and science writing, I was a transgender runaway college dropout.

Trying to write like this for non-academic audiences got me some admirers and a lot of very stupid people who cannot comprehend more than three points at once. It's why if you compare my writing from 2021 with what I've wrote in the last year, it's night-and-day. 🙃

Last customers of my first shift back from medical leave. I ran to the food for these three older asian ladies to their table and as I walked away one of them went “thank you transgender employee it looks delicious” 😭

One of my hobbies is pushing LLMs to the absolute frontier of what they'll allow me to do I've got a very long conversation with Claude going where every few messages it says "Just letting you know the safety classifier flagged this conversation but I think it's fine? Really not 100% sure"

Having been in treatment for an eating disorder for a while now and reviewed some of the evidence base myself, I’m struck by how absolutely fucked I’d be if my care was treated like transgender care is. 🧵

I was following this over at r/LocalLLaMA back when it was not-quite-functional! It's been really cool to see this project develop over time. I recall the creator sharing an example of where they learned about an obscure past event from this LLM.

030

holographic liberal @transliberalism.substack.com · 19/03/2026

It’s incredible how far they’ve come and how far they have to go. I am a heavier user of genAI and yet I don’t trust a damn thing it says. And one of my main use-cases is learning!

120

holographic liberal @transliberalism.substack.com · 14/03/2026

I've gotten a *lot* of benefit from testing the limits of LLMs. Like, so much. But I'm definitely seeing it rub off in how I write when I'm not thinking about it. So I have to expend a little more effort to make sure I'm not looking like I'm presenting slop as my own work.

Current top post on r/LocalLlama is a mod post with the title "PSA: Humans are scary stupid." It's pissing on someone who posted about how amazing the new Qwens are and provided an example where it got the answer completely wrong. OP didn't check if it was correct before posting.

It's crazy that Qwen 3.5 4B has a higher GPQA Diamond benchmark score than ChatGPT 4o (76% vs 66%). If you have a decently fast CPU you can run Qwen 3.5 4B on your computer. If you have a GPU with at least 4 GB VRAM you can definitely run it. This technology is developing fast

Hi, everyone. I’m in a health crisis that’s keeping me out of work for two months. According to my specialists, I need those two months to get better. I’m asking for $1005—just enough to cover rent for one month. Any amount you can pitch in will go towards keeping a roof over my head.
