David @transientnova.bsky.social · 05/10/2026*me, at work, seeing this post* How!? How is this still going!?!? There was only an hour on the timer when I left!!! 000 0
David @transientnova.bsky.social · 04/10/2026I have now decided that Fortune’s Weave is one of the very good Fire Emblems, with my only real gripes being a softer difficulty and that there might be too much of it. Everything else about it is pretty great though, including one of the best Treehouse localisations in recent years. 011 1

David @transientnova.bsky.social · 08/09/2026Sneaking beneath the current Discourse to say that there realistic art style would be *great* for a creepy, dark fairytale-style MM remake. Less so an OoT one though. 000 0
David @transientnova.bsky.social · 06/09/2026Been watching various streams of folk playing The Big Walk and thinking to myself ‘I’d really like to play The Big Walk.’ Kind of need to rope someone in to join me though. Maybe in time! 000 0
David @transientnova.bsky.social · 29/08/2026I think that it partly comes down to how eager the game was to draw from (and try to match) the wider 90s Japanese STG spectrum at the time, rather than the usual sole R-Type pulls most over Amiga shooters went for. Perhaps most unusually, it often succeeded! 000 0
David @transientnova.bsky.social · 29/08/2026I can say that Apidya Special does indeed confirm that the original Apidya is, in fac,t one of those Amiga games that has aged well. It’s a generally good port/rebuild as well, as long as you understand that it pursues those ‘Amiga STG’ bells and whistles rather than the usual ‘arcade STG’ ones. 100 1
David @transientnova.bsky.social · 27/08/2026Might give this a go as I feel Apidya will be one of those uncommon Amiga games that has aged extremely well. 000 0

David @transientnova.bsky.social · 27/08/2026Even putting aside the AI shit, immediate impressions of Dodonpachi Resurrection Reignite on here paint it as really subpar already. Like, you’re competing with an older version of your own, exact same product and instantly found wanting. 000 0
David @transientnova.bsky.social · 27/08/2026Well that’s me put off the Dodonpachi Resurrection re-release then. 100 1

Translating the entirety of the first Darius collection was a job that took me two days and cost Taito or whoever footed my bill like $500 back in the day. If you wanna save money, just don't hire generalist agencies where like half the fee is pure profit margins lol 151405477 1.4K

David @transientnova.bsky.social · 06/07/2026Bio-Hazard Battle/Crying is not really one of those games, but you know, it’s a better STG than people gave it credit for back then. And man, do I love Crying’s boxart. It’s a *mood*. 000 0
David @transientnova.bsky.social · 06/07/2026Following Sony’s refusal to preserve anything, I’ve decided to do something I should have done a long time ago and started poking around with game emulation to explore games that might otherwise be lost to history. 100 1

David @transientnova.bsky.social · 06/07/2026This remains another massacre, just one in which PR is figuring out ways to more effectively absolve Microsoft’s responsibility of it this time. 000 0
David @transientnova.bsky.social · 06/07/2026I also don’t think the studios being cut loose will be in a positive situation as you might think. The entities that will buy Ninja Theory and Undead Labs will *not* be good, and both Compulsion and Double Fine face an *extremely* volatile market right now. 100 1

David @transientnova.bsky.social · 25/06/2026Hoping as many people as possible land on their feet following this round of Bungie layoffs. They’re all tremendously talented people who deserve much better than the (historically at least) poor management there, as well as Sony’s current poor leadership. I’m sorry Jim Ryan happened to you all. 120 2

David @transientnova.bsky.social · 14/06/2026The (almost) entirety of Destiny 2 is currently on a very significant discount now and, as the game is now essentially complete, this is the best time to grab it. And I do recommend you do so! At the price, its highs definitely outweigh its lows. 100 1
