Hey BlueSky. I post here a lot, but I’ve never introduced myself. I’m Josh. Transient Archive is one of my creative outlets, and provides structure for developing my skills as a drummer. Expect posts about drums, production, and photos I take. #introduction #bluesky #drums #music #photography

Thirty seconds of The Wanton Song, by Led Zeppelin. #rock #drums #ledzeppelin #music John Bonham composed a monster drum part. I may be overplaying the kick drum. I can’t tell - the original recording isn’t clear and hi-fi like more recent rock tracks. I tried to mix this aggressively -

Drums Only: Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin. John Bonham is the GOAT. I have learned a lot studying his playing. I guess I got the drum sound close enough to earn a copyright claim. Thanks for watching. youtu.be/KWjTblQN1kE?... #ledzeppelin #rock #drums #immigrantsong #heavy #music

Drummers, sound engineers, producers: if you work in a DAW, what are your go-to plugins for mixing drum tracks? I am looking for suggestions to add to my own mixing workflow. Thanks in advance!! #drums #music #production #sound #mixing #DAW

Videographers and content creators - do you have experience with the GoPro Mission 1? What do you think of it? I am thinking of buying one to capture drum sessions in a relatively small room with moderate lighting. Would the camera do well in that setting? #gopro #videography #camera #video

John Bonham’s isolated drum part from Led Zeppelin’s The Lemon Song. Bonham’s drums are fantastic, but what about the mix? There is a crunch, and some distortion and smearing on of the peaks. It adds some texture to a great performance. youtu.be/tFTHFWtMsM8?... #music #drums #ledzeppelin

I’m starting to learn about the amazing world of free, open source plugins for digital audio workstations. I use Reaper to mix drums I record at home. It’s incredibly powerful and has many great stock FX options. However, I have added a few free plugins to expand my capabilities:

Which hard rock songs really speak to you? Do the drums stand out? I would like to know! One that speaks to me is Let Me Drown by Soundgarden. It’s such a heavy, tight, and aggressive song. Matt Cameron’s drum part is perfect. His snare drum stands out. youtu.be/SsZTYqyb13U?... #music #sunday
