I have historically been indecisive on the topic, but I dont think i could ever bring a child into a world with AI as we know it with a clean conscience. too manifestly cruel a reality to do that to a child.

you can mourn those who died on october 7th, but please understand that this is a deeply significant day to many who are not jewish as well. what you are demanding is not the space for jews to mourn, but rather, the denial of space for others to mourn.

I simply do not see it as an honest framing to list an occupying power and the resistance to the occupation as forces bearing equal responsibility. israel has an obligation not to subject palestinians to occupation, full stop. "all sides are bad" is a thought-terminating cop-out

i dont exactly disagree, but i also am very much of the opinion that as long as the only electoral opposition had dropped any pretense of policy which could make a positive difference in people's lives, that fascism wad inevitably going to fill the vacuum sooner or later.

there was noy an option to vote against the oligarchs in 2024. there was a choice to choose between two sets of oligarchs, and there was a big overlap between them. morello has done far more to rally support against the oligarchs than he possibly could working within the electoral system

honestly I dont love jordan's defense. the real defense is that this is a democracy, and morello is exercising his right in a democracy to dissenting speech. you dont need to like it, but it only reads as childish lashing out to INSIST he promote the democratic party.

University leaders seem to forget that "the public" includes students, faculty, and staff who study and work at the institutions they lead. The "public" is not some external, amorphous thing to the university. If you can't treat the people on your campus with decency, then yeah, they won't trust you
