When I think of a male actor who's had a long career but isn't what id consider good looking, this guy comes to mind But he's probably supremely talented in ways I don't know and has striking presence in real life

As I creep further toward middle age (arguably I'm already there but shh) I become less concerned with what is Good in an objective sense and more concerned with the stuff that really does it for me, and also understanding why. This album really does it for me.

You ever remember the name of a minor celebrity from your childhood and think, no, no way, that is definitely not a real person's name. I must have misheard it.

I know it's an incredibly cliche dude thing to do to read Cormac McCarthy, but damn if this isn't good writing

I'm not usually one to go on about Bluesky being an annoying place or whatever, but this type of interaction I think is "peak Bluesky" in a bad way

I've gotta hand it to him, "I no longer have a clear point of view from which to approach the current socio political climate" is a really *appropriate* place to end your time as a nationally relevant opinion columnist

I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to condense my thoughts on the trade into writing after it happened, and this was my conclusion about Jaylen

Upon further reflection I feel like going after either J-Will or Chet makes too much sense to not be at least one of their top ideas

Unfortunately if no team is willing to make a strong offer right now, the only option is to do the best you can to augment the current roster and head into next season ready to move Jaylen if and when some team decides to up the ante. Which means we spend the season waiting for a shoe to drop.

#makeaterriblecomicday2026 look, i'm not an artist, but i've kinda always wanted to get in on this

Two stick figures. Dialogue: "Hey," "Yeah?" "Remember in the middle school, playing with paint on the classroom computer" "Uh, sure" "Making extremely simplistic drawings of cartoon characters, Pikachu or whatever" "Right" There is a rudimentary paint.exe depiction of Pikachu. "And then having Pikachu do bonkers shit like eat Ash's intestines?" "Um ..." There is a rudimentary depiction of Pikachu with an open mouth full of razor fangs, a rope of viscera hanging down from out, and in the lower corner of the panel a hat that looks kind of like Ash Ketchum's hat, with an air brush spray of blood all over. "That was awesome."

Look, there's building a winner, and then there's the more basic goal of entertaining your fans. Bad enough that the Sox won't spend to put a real WS team on the field. IMO much worse is they're failing to even be at all fun. However long it's actually been since Ortiz retired, it feels WAY longer.

Even if Will is technically right, what is striking to me about this exchange is how being the "Well akshully" guy in response to giving people stuff they need to make their lives better is precisely the image that the Democratic Party needs to run from like it's Leatherface revving a chainsaw

Remarkably difficult to find recent pics of my cat; turns out we largely stopped taking pictures of her when the little human arrived. Here she is being amazingly tolerant of me practicing with the baby wrap before my son was born.
