Really liking what this alternate story for Dune. Works extremely well with the IP, and gave them a fun way to challenge some of the very things readers get confused about regularly. When D:A gets bad it feels like they ran out of time. When it's good it's very good. Overall good though.

Funcom eventually adding an auto-run/auto-drive hotkey is probably the one thing that saved my sanity long enough to replay most of the game again for like a fifth time (including beta.) Though in the arena chapter I was seriously rethinking my choices. Insufferably filler-esque.

Completed the available story content for Dune: Awakening. Good Dune story awkwardly attached to an MMO-esque game. Though hilariously, it's also an amazing game in its own right, so I also can't do much more than grumble about fetch quests and repeatedly traveling between social hubs.

To recap the start of my day, Windows 11 did the following: Scrambled my desktop icons, which I had meticulously arranged to my liking. Muted all my audio, and on restart presented it ultra-low quality at 1000% volume, and then fixed itself two restarts later. Scrambled my desktop icons AGAIN.

Actually pretty excited for an overhaul of Shogun 2 because it's a great Total War game but it's also much harder to love compared to modern games. It *feels* like it's 15 years old.

Surprisingly, the song I wanted to hear most was done by Ryo Konishi, who actually seems to have done a bunch of songs I liked from the anime. And at a glance he doesn't seem to have much of an established history as a composer. Hopefully we hear more from him in the future.

Overall I'm pretty happy with Science Saru's Ghost in the Shell series. In some ways it does make me appreciate the decisions made for the movie and SAC series, but not in a way that makes me prefer one over the other for the most part. New one can feel confusing at times. SAC is very clear.

The more acquainted I get with sci-fi spaceship/space station modeling, the more I've come to appreciate the simplicity of lower-fidelity designs. 1 million polys of greebles? Nah. Just slap a nice texture on there. Couple panels and panel lines. The occasional square with a pipe on it. Easy.

One thing I've come to realize is that the Galactic Empire in Star Wars has a strong, developed design language both across canon and fanon works. Old, New, and High Republic though? Much of it is just pre-Imperial hardware! How am I gonna make New Republic stations without references!?

I'm kind of impressed with the amount of neat animations they added for various pals in Palworld. Like, they didn't need to have the kung fu girl pal have a special animation for walking on water, and it makes me laugh every time. Also holy shit that's a lot of monstergirls. So many monstergirls.
