Shibou Yuugi Approached very artistically; very SHAFT-esque. First episode is extremely strong, maybe too strong comparatively, but the rest of the series is still interesting. Slow pacing requires your respect and attention. Disjointed timelines are hard. Left a pretty strong impression.

I managed to throw together a draft of my X4 Star Wars Interworlds video. After I get a bit of feedback on it I expect it to be out by end of week at the latest. Not expecting too much to change from its current state. As far as a first attempt at a challenge run style video goes, I think I did OK.

It's incredibly funny how Kara no Kyoukai has such dark and serious subject matter, but then Shiki Ryougi casually kicks three zombies off a building right in the middle of Paradox Paradigm's epic fight sequence, to one of the best action tracks in anime history. ufotable knew what they were doing.

I'd like to take a moment to randomly praise Hiroyuki Morioka for writing a novel in which people get into a gunfight whilst riding animatronic cartoon horses in an amusement park, and further add that it made it into the anime adaptation. Some authors just roll with it, and I respect that.

Even having said all of that, it really barely scratches the surface. That's just the spaceship stuff. Half of Crest of the Stars, the introduction to the series, doesn't even take place on spaceships. Hell, like a third of it doesn't even take place in space.

My trouble crafting a review for Banner of the Stars is splitting time between the romantic and cultural elements, and the fact that it has such an interesting concept for FTL travel and spaceship combat that I'd love nothing more than to talk about for 30+ minutes, but it needs to be digestible.
