Having to update the software so the cars could race is honestly one of the most insane things I've ever heard in Motorsport. A truly embarrassing day for F1 and the FIA. Yet, they will persist with these regs. I highly doubt the split change next year fixes them completely. Unbelievable.

Maybe I am getting old but the hyperbole around fairly standard racing is driving me nuts. (British) media and fans generally want racing and then complain when there's hard racing. One minute they complain about papaya rules, the next they are asking why Hamilton is not getting backed. Comical.
