The ply I got for a house project is 1/16th of an inch too thick and yes, it's a very noticeable difference. I'm sweaty and tired and I don't know if I want to break something or cry.

Every time I've visited the city it's been great. Folks mind their own business but aren't rude. Really, they're so much friendlier than Seattle. They don't look at you like you have a hand growing out of your ear for deigning to say something as simple as "excuse me" or "thank you."

My Rage Against the Machine/Les Mis mashup is complete. This is my interpretation of the quilt guild’s summer challenge “quilt with your interpretation and/or feelings towards our current ‘democracy’” all hand stitched.
Quilt hanging on a card catalog. Neutral background with navy cursive appliqué “Do you hear thr people sing?” The background is embroidered in red starting light and getting bolder the lyrics to “killing in the name” the quilting effect is a focused sunburst from the center.

I hate doing the "a rollback of trans rights is the gateway for a rollback of women's rights" thing because trans rights are human rights in and of themselves, whatever the impact on cis women. But goddamn I wish more cis women had a sense of history and self preservation.

An illustration by Gustave Dore for Dante’s Divine Comedy that shows two silhouetted figures standing on a tall summit gazing up at a great celestial conflagration of souls in heaven. spot illos for R.F. Kuang's Babel - Illustrated edition these were all made at around 4" on the longest size and printed even smaller in the book, so they had to be clear and readable at a small size, while still retaining a good amount of detail spots are really fun to conceptualize and draw!

This is Olivia. She's a very good girl who kept me company at the morning brief in fire camp. Her mannerisms are so similar to my sweetest boy who passed a couple years ago. Of all the therapy dogs she's my favorite that has been brought in.

My view for the past few days.
At a glance this is a peaceful lake with pine trees and some fluffy clouds perhaps backlit by the sun to give it a glow. There's a pair of people enjoying the view even.

In reality that is a column of light brownish smoke from a wildfire burning wet fuels (undergrowth, grasses, timber) cutting across a blue sky. The two figures are wearing the green and yellow uniform of wildland firefighters. Zooming in to the little dock on the lake there's two pumps with hose set up to draft water from the lake for water tenders to fill up at. The actual fire is approximately 2 miles away at it's closest point.
