Ruby's been showing me Twin Peaks. The best thing I can say about David Lynch's directing is he told me who the killer was loudly, clearly, and uncomfortably all the way back in Episode 2, yet the reveal 12—at times interminably-long—episodes later was still viscerally upsetting and unshakeable.
