In Louisiana today, HB 575 has passed the senate vote. This bill would create liability for providers suspected of providing abortions. The doctor speaking in this clip specifically says they'd rather leave the state than continue to practice. Providing health treatment to women would become a risk

They had lawyers, trials, most were given pretrial release, allowed to testify in their own defense, got discovery, could call witnesses, could cross-examine witnesses, could present mitigation at sentencing, and had a right to appeal.
