Rewatching Ren and Stimpy; it’s weird how the first season felt the most Looney Tunes esque in putting our two leads into multiple different scenarios and worlds; not to say the other seasons didn’t do it either; they for sure did but something about the first season gave off more Looney vibes.

The CB Bears was a weird attempt by Hanna Barbera at reviving there old anthology show format with six new shows that sadly were forgotten as quickly as they came . Rewatching Rocko’s Modern Life and one thing I love is how the title cards would have a little spotlight section on who that episode was focused on, as the titles flashed by, felt like a modern evolution on older cartoon title cards, examples seen below.

It’s like a DJ or VJ but for comics ; “a comic jokey” as it were
Think of something along the lines of the Ghouluntatics from EC COMICS but for comedy; Someone who’d appear inbetween stories and setting the scene like any good host while also getting into mischief of there own trying to keep things together
I’ve had this beaver character in the back of mind for almost ten years and in my eyes I always saw him as the unflappable MC/ leader of a troupe
So basically this beaver would be the Kermit the Frog of this book.

Looked at a lot of Gold Key comic covers and for some reason the digest anthology issues stood out to me the most. Something about seeing a sample of the different characters you’ll see inside was extremely appealing to me. Maybe some day I’ll get off my lazy butt and actually make this a reality
