dog 1: i understand the impulse to be like "end times, end times" but i think it's just the desire for narrative. it would be satisfying to get to be around for the ending. a sense of closure, no matter how awful to know, to know that it was all leading up to something. but how self-important to think we would be present for the finale. we are only onstage for a moment.
