I've noticed a lot of "Astartes" influence in cinematic trailers for games lately, especially MENACE's cinematic trailer. This isn't a criticism at all, I like seeing passion projects like Astartes having wider influence like this.

I think I need a Mechanicus Standard Grey for any future priming. Grey Primed minis only needed two coats, whereas the much lighter, near-white Grey Seer needed three. Better blue paint would’ve helped too though.

Once the wash dries, I’ve done a dry brush of Kraken Blue to try bring some colour back in. Left is Washed, right is after Dry brushing. It definitely looks a *little* brighter/vibrant. This will be followed up with a brighter blue dry brush with a more delicate application.

So base coating is taking WAY longer and more paint, so I’ll prob go Citadel or Two Thin Coats to replace this AP paint when it runs out. After three coats, I give them a wash of Nuln Oil for shading: Three coats on the left, and a washed marine on the right.

I’m using Army Painter paints, because I bought A LOT during lockdown for painting my absurd number of D&D minis. I was warned recently the older AP paints have coverage issues though, and yeah, they do. One coat on the left, three coats on the right:

Okay, painting update thread as I get increasingly into 40K minis. I settled on being vanilla as hell. We’re painting up as Ultramarines because eventually I want to get Guilliman and Ventris. I already have the Titus mini. I had to prime in Grey Seer, though I would’ve preferred a darker grey

Got myself a little early birthday present. This rounds out my force to just shy of a thousand points. Will share painting updates later. I’ve started with the larger squads to practice and experiment, before I get to specialised squads and heroes. Definitely painting Titus last.

I recently learned that due to a translation error in a few lines of dialogue in Dragon’s Dogma 2, the nature of the true ending is lost. And that’s such a shame, because it all hits much much harder than the mistranslation does. I get DD isn’t for everyone, but I love it

The food scene in the Monster Hunter Wilds benchmark is incredible Which makes the choice for the live-action Pork Chop frying scene in Dragon’s Dogma 2 even more baffling as a choice, since Wilds is on the same engine as DD2 I guess DD2 walked so MH Wilds could run on the RE engine?

Spent a little time today updating all my streaming tools. I really want to get back to it. At this point I’ve definitely lost a lot of what I’d built over the last three years. The longer it’s left the more it’ll build up in my head 🫠 I’ll start small with two shorter streams a week, I think.
