Thank you to everyone who came to my Hells Kitchen street clean up this week. We cleaned dozens of blocks, picking up thousands of cigarette butts, and filling 5 massive bags of trash. It’s up to all of us to do our part to keep the community clean!

The Senate unanimously passed A101. Now the Assembly must act. Having a drink or using drugs should never be used to deny survivors justice. It’s time to close this loophole and protect every New Yorker’s right to consent.

Having a drink or using drugs should never mean forfeiting your right to consent. Under current NY law, voluntary intoxication can prevent a victim from receiving the same protections. A101 would change that. We need to pass this bill and close this dangerous loophole.

New York’s housing crisis and climate crisis are connected. Building more housing in walkable, transit-rich neighborhoods means fewer cars, shorter commutes, and a more sustainable city. That’s a State of Yes. Read the report linked in my bio!

Wishing everyone observing Yom Kippur a meaningful day of reflection and renewal. May we carry its lessons of compassion and accountability forward, stand against antisemitism and hate, and work toward a more united New York.

Manhattan rents just hit another record high, with the average rent reaching $6,655. This is exactly why Albany needs to act. My “State of Yes” package would build more housing, strengthen tenant protections, and tackle the shortage driving rents up. Read more at the link in bio.

NYC rents are at record highs, and too many New Yorkers are struggling to find safe, affordable homes. That’s why I’m pushing “State of Yes” to build more housing, strengthen tenant protections, and hold bad landlords accountable. Read more at the link in our bio.

TORTURE IS ILLEGAL! The regime in DC continues to use fear as their primary tool for control. Can’t win an election on the merits? Spread false narratives about immigrants and our elections. A city resists the tyranny? Send in the military. Our vision will triumph. (1/2)

13 buildings. 2.7 acres. In Nashville, that’s called “a parking lot.” In Manhattan, it’s a whole campus. And what a beautiful campus it is! I’m proud to welcome Vanderbilt University and see this landmark brought to life with jobs, opportunities, and students from around the world. 🤠

Shana Tova! As we welcome year 5787, I’m wishing everyone celebrating Rosh Hashanah a year of peace, health, and joy. At a time of rising antisemitism, bigotry, and division, may we stand together, reject hate. Because in New York, every person belongs.

New York needs a big, bold housing agenda. “State of Yes” would build more housing, strengthen tenant protections, invest in social housing, and make it easier to build near transit. We can build and protect. Read more at the link in bio.

Happy Labor Day! We honor the workers who built our city and keep it moving. Much of our current affordable housing, like Penn South in my district, was built by organized labor. Labor is central to solving our housing crisis. My State of Yes report makes that clear.

New York can’t solve the housing crisis by choosing between building and protecting. We need to do both. That’s why I’m pushing my 32-bill “State of Yes” package to build more housing and strengthen tenant protections. Read more at the link in bio.

Assemblymember Jordan Wright is 100% correct! We need to build housing that the people who built our community can actually afford – housing that meets people where they are, and gives them the stability to get where they want to be. The full agenda to get us there is linked in bio.

The numbers don’t lie… Build enough housing and rents slow and sometimes fall. Don’t believe it? Read my report linked in bio. But, while we build we must also protect tenants! This crisis can be solved, but only if we take action!

It’s 2026, not 1986. We have modern medicine and education. It’s ridiculous that this is legal in Florida, in Texas, but not in New York City. It is well past time to repeal the ban and legalize adult-use bathhouses. You can read the full article linked in bio.
