I don't know what the answer is there, because the reality is there isn't a good answer because this is what these rules were meant to do. The league is organized in a way to force the best teams to break up relatively quickly.

James Dolan is being cheap, and he should absolutely get shit for that, but this isn't just that. You simply can't pay all the starters the amounts they've earned and not be in the second apron for as long as those contracts run. At that point there's real harm on the basketball side.

For sure. I think the message is very different coming from someone who works a blue collar job vs. someone who wouldn't want a blue collar job for themselves. It's not necessarily for everyone. But job satisfaction where I work is pretty high.
