Massage today was absolutely needed, I had to get all that negative energy and stress out of my body. I've felt a lot more calm, relaxed and not as high strung compared to the last week.

It feels weird seeing cell phone term contracts with a "lease it or keep it" option. I thought having it on vehicles was bad enough, now cell phones? I can see the benefit of it in a sense, but it also kinda reinforces my idea of hanging onto a device for longer and going "pay as you go".

Fresh, new cotton flannel sheets is awesome. I was looking forward to these beauties coming back on store shelves this year. Getting rid of a lot of my old bedding and getting a few of these sets when finances allow. Even in summer with the AC at full blast, these are so nice to snuggle into.

Rotating off days into nights are a lot easier when everything I need for that first nightshift is already prepared the day before, and I don't have to run around like an idiot in the morning. Makes the few hours before the afternoon snooze more laid back and enjoyable.

So my re-reformatting this morning is going better than I thought. Last night's dive into Linux Fedora was not exactly what I had expected, and ended up switching back. So now reinstalling everything is gonna take a decent chunk of the day. Coffee and good vibes will get me through the day.

Every map search says where you live, work and sleep. For most Canadians, that map is American, and so is the company holding the answers. Maple Maps is the Canadian one. Built here, hosted in Montréal, Canadian-owned businesses marked with a leaf. No ads. No data sold. Ever. maplemaps.ca

Hard to believe it's been 25 years already. I remember that day vividly. Still in high school, didn't notice anything out of the ordinary routine all day. Came home and mum told me the news before I seen the footage on TV. I felt so sick to my stomach and in a huge anxiety attack.

Much as I'm not a huge fan of AI chatbots, it does have some utility when I'm sitting down comparing things like cell phone upgrades without me having to beat my brains out searching all over the place.

Love the smell of the air after it rains. Especially this early in the morning when its ~13C, sunny, and a cool breeze. It's a pleasant mood booster, least for a bit before I head into the plant for a twelve. Least I can look forward to sitting outside on my breaks.

Watching the chatter on these tariff talks is absolute entertainment on every level. People need to reeducate themselves on how things work and why the discussions are going the way they are. Not too hard when you actually sit down with a cup of coffee, away from doomscrolling, and think about it.

I am not fond of the idea of changing up my cat's litter from the corn/wood pellet we've been using and going back to clay. And the only reason I'm thinking this (yes, this is a stupid reason) is because the litter we use now is US made. Granted clay is be cheaper, it just feels absolutely nasty.

The whole US-Iran war reminds me of a Beast Wars episode. Megatron, a Predacon, asks Optimus Primal, a Maximal, for a truce in the war. Primal has doubts, saying "Anytime Predacons call for a truce, it means they need time to reload their weapons". Later, Megatron ends the truce. Insert role here.

I'm techo-exhausted after last night. Looked at alternate email providers last night at work (Mailbox and Tuta), and I'm better off just staying where I am with Proton. Decent alternatives, but a headache to navigate around. And eventually I'll have free Proton, other ones need a sub after 30 days.

Also experimenting for a little bit with this DuckDuckGo browser in lieu of Vivaldi. I use the search engine often so I'm curious to see how this one holds up compared to it, as I've seen a lot of good talk about it being a better big tech option with better privacy for the average user.

Much as I tried to steer away from it, I'm forced to go back to Spotify for music streaming. The variable bitrate option in more rural cellular areas is nice; no more buffering waiting for songs to take ages to load at a higher bitrate. It's an option Soundcloud needs to look into big time.

DuckDuckGo's browser blocks YouTube ads by default This comes a month after YouTube Premium's price hike and the increase in adverts for free users. You might want to switch browsers or use uBlock Origin.

DuckDuckGo just picked a fight with Google over YouTube ads

DuckDuckGo's browser blocks YouTube ads automatically, using open-source uBlock Origin lists. Google is unlikely to let this slide.
