I hereby declare Littlejohn's Law: "When a columnist rages against people working from home, it is almost certain they wrote it while working from home." (Via Private Eye)
PS: It's not just on net zero where the news outlet and its parent appear to diverge. As DMGT's annual report delightedly explains, the company supports employees "in maintaining a work-life balance" by, for instance, allowing "flexible working practices". "There's loads of people still working from home here," confirms a Mail source.

But this did not stop the paper devoting a front page splash and editorial on 30 December to public sector employees being allowed to work from home and even abroad, bemoaning "the folly of seaside shirkers" who would be "so out-of-synch with colleagues and devoid of proper managerial supervision".

The following day, columnist Richard Littlejohn smirked over the new year honours list that "I shouldn't be surprised to discover that some of them are getting gongs for services to Working From Home. Or Working From The Beach." Naturally Littlejohn, who never comes in to the Mail office, emailed these words from home – or, at least, one of his homes, given that he spends much of the year WFH-ing from the rather sunnier climes of Florida!
