Americans in the replies not fully understanding this is just a prelude to Ryan fully Murdoching them all!

To my fellow members of Toronto—St. Paul's: I emailed my MP Leslie Church tonight about her endorsement of Brad Bradford. While I don't expect a reply, here is my email in case you'd like some inspiration for your own. Always tell your representatives how you feel! They work for you!

Saw her in person at both Tempo games, and she is SO awkward… seriously looks like she must play some other, different sport and accidentally stumbled onto a WNBA court…

To be fair, the dissonance is a lot less when you add the words ‘short sleeved’ in the front… (For context, tonight’s Blue Jays giveaway…)

Well, my 85 year old mom, a diehard Blue Jays fan and optimist, usually ends her morning message to the family group chat with a string of baseballs and blue hearts. Today, even she seems to be accepting the inevitable…

To be fair, Jenny, they do offer a convenient alternative where you create a code breaking grid that you have to always have accessible. It’s like being in a DaVinci Code/National Treasure type adventure, except not fun in any way.

A report from the Canadian Chamber of Commerce last year said that every dollar invested by the federal government in arts and culture generates $29 in economic activity. I’m very happy to see rail and transit funding but yes, we treat arts funding as some unnecessary frill and that must change 👇🏼

This is in Bradford’s riding, earlier tonight. I have friends with flooded basements, and one with a tree through his roof. Waiting for Brad to condemn Kinsella’s comments…
An intersection where the rainwater has completely overwhelmed the storm drains. The water covers everything between the inside edge of the sidewalk all the way across two lanes of traffic. My two lane plus parking side street, with water covering all but the middle third, and spilling over the sidewalk curb

Brad Bradford says that 50% of roadway cannot be allocated to 1% of users. Good thing it isn't. Only about 1% of all of Toronto's road space is allocated to bike lanes. I showed my work, and used Danforth (the lanes he fought so hard to get added) as an example.

Staples (🇺🇸) is now open for some ON teachers. How do prices stack up against the TDSB supply centre for classroom basics? TDSB: $290.38 Staples: $668.98 Staples Teachers: $584.56 But Paul Calandra took over the TDSB claiming financial mismanagement and Doug Ford wants you to #BuyCanadian. #OntEd

The last time the Americans tried to claim Lake Ontario in 1813, we intentionally lured them into Fort York and then blew up our entire gunpowder magazine to kill as many Americans as possible. A foundation part of Toronto history is "blowing our own fort to smithereens rather than being American"

It is the last part in a several week series, each column focusing on one of her Toronto homes. Each piece has her go and see one of them, interview the current residents, and reflect on her time there - the penultimate one was especially good. Really neat kind of memoir!

Thanks to Doug Ford and Paul Calandra, 80,000 elementary educators have to order classroom supplies from Staples this year instead of from their school boards. I decided to do a little comparison shopping for school supplies many of us will have to order over the course of a school year. 🧵 #OntEd
