I know it's tempting but please don't make jokes about smashing your fists into duck feather duvets, it might seem funny but it's actually punching down

Overweight, overpriced, overheated: if anyone out there is in the market for a 12-ton metaphor for Boris Johnson’s contribution to British national life, you’re in luck.

Farewell to the Boris bus
Overweight, overpriced and overheated – it was a 12-ton metaphor

I always say my wedding day was the happiest day of my life, but it wasn't. It was the day I had been tailgated for miles and miles on a country road, then before turning left I let no fewer than THREE tractors join in front of me before exiting. Fuck you, white Kia Niro.

From 10 years ago, a classic Grauniad correction!
From the Guardian's Corrections and Clarifications:
Karol Wojtyla was referred to in Saturday's Credo column as "the first non-Catholic pope for 450 years". This should, of course, have read "non-Italian". We apologies for the error

Meanwhile heritage railways are muscling in on Virgin’s market!

Today we can announce that The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway are submitting a bid to operate services through The Channel Tunnel to mainland Europe. Although there is rumoured strong competition that the likes of Virgin Trains are also bidding, it is believed that the RH&DR's miniature steam services will have the edge.
The potential deal will allow passengers to travel non-stop from the bustling, vibrant and exhilarating landscapes of Dungeness, via New Romney and Hythe, to the likes of Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam.
If successful in their bid, the RH&DR hope to begin services on 31st February 2027 as part of their centenary celebrations.
