How the FlyDubai case looks like. Someone, or many, knew about the rising radicalism in a pilot. In another state. And had real concerns. That info was not shared or passed to the new employer. And he was in the flight deck. Why? This is the key question.

Background checks. Strengthening culture of intervening and reporting within community. Lowering threshold for pilots themselves to seek help in any mental conditions. In EU we reacted promptly in the aftermath of the Germanwings case. We do have solid barriers in terms of all abovementioned.

A pilot with bad intent attacking another in the flight deck. My opinion as a practitioner. Removing the fire axe is not a way forward. Strengthening the existing safety networks is. Vetting. Finding people with mental disorders or radicalism. Sharing info within aviation medical domain.

Exactly. I think the core question will become the one with ’ability to execute’. Are we able to achieve that without abandoning our transparent, robust democratic processes and the accompanying bureaucracy? If we find a way to combine these, we will be winners.

You are right, that should be the logical next step. Proton (Swiss) seems to be building some kind of an ecosystem, they already have mail, cloud, AI and calendar in a bundle.

Tinos Island, Greece, EU. It belongs to Cyclades Islands and is known as a genuine Greek Island with many beautiful authentic villages. Also famous for the famous Orthodox Church ”Our Lady of Tinos” and its vivid marble prduction. Plus, the local people are fantastic. So friendly. #greece #eu

Anyone else who ordered the new Commodore Callback phone? I could not resist. No touchscreen; fully AI-free and Social Media Free, no algorithms, but still with relevant messaging apps, camera and music. Ok, it is US-based, but the OS is European and maintains privacy.

Sometimes I find a typical Finn in me. My dog walks towards the local dog park but I would not prefer to, because then I’d need to be social and talk to the other dog owners. Don’t get me wrong. I KNOW we need each other and communality. And I support it. 💙 This is the Finnish eternal dilemma. 😂
