This sounds like a lot of money. But it’s €3 per person in the EU - to get rid of Amazon, Microsoft, Google from government and business. With current prices, that sounds like one of the best deals ever. www.theregister.com/paas-and-iaa...

What are you up to this evening, W-mates? I’m currently travelling from Barcelona to Perpignan in a car. Just passing Girona. (Not driving.) Let’s share our where- and whatabouts in comments, just for fun!

A pilot with bad intent attacking another in the flight deck. My opinion as a practitioner. Removing the fire axe is not a way forward. Strengthening the existing safety networks is. Vetting. Finding people with mental disorders or radicalism. Sharing info within aviation medical domain.

Please don’t misunderstand that this post was AI. It is NOT. My promise is never post AI pretending it is something else. This was taken with GoPro in 2023. But I just realized myself how damn hard it is NOT to be assumed as AI nowadays! But can’t judge! Weird times. Weird indeed.

I’m trying to find a good and reliable Europe-based AI, to replace ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude. Has anyone already tried e.g.: Infomania’s Euria Mistral’s Vibe Proton’s Lumo? Recommendations? #AI

An amazing song by Chris Rea. The sound & atmosphere, and the lyrics where you can hear so many meanings that are still current. To wish someone to be nearer, but still a little afraid or the their intentions. Suits to nationalities. Races. Tribes. Or just between two human beings. #WSocialMusic

Tinos Island, Greece, EU. It belongs to Cyclades Islands and is known as a genuine Greek Island with many beautiful authentic villages. Also famous for the famous Orthodox Church ”Our Lady of Tinos” and its vivid marble prduction. Plus, the local people are fantastic. So friendly. #greece #eu

Anyone else who ordered the new Commodore Callback phone? I could not resist. No touchscreen; fully AI-free and Social Media Free, no algorithms, but still with relevant messaging apps, camera and music. Ok, it is US-based, but the OS is European and maintains privacy.

Modern safety science ideas, part 3: Safety-1 (old) believes that the setup is safe, human error is the risk, and we learn from things that go wrong. Safety-2 (modern) accepts that the setup is complex and unexpected, human is the adaptive and resilient shield, and we should learn from success.

Sometimes I find a typical Finn in me. My dog walks towards the local dog park but I would not prefer to, because then I’d need to be social and talk to the other dog owners. Don’t get me wrong. I KNOW we need each other and communality. And I support it. 💙 This is the Finnish eternal dilemma. 😂

Modern safety science ideas, part 2: Overregulating means trying to enhance safety with too many rules. It’s also called safety bureaucracy. Too many rules suppress resilience, adaptivity, creativity and motivation. It provokes practical workarounds, non-compliance and erodes culture.

The border between Pakistan and India. It’s shiny. But I sincerely hope we’ll never see these kind of borders inside Europe between us. It looks like this when you’re afraid of the dark. When you’re suspicious and controlling. When you think the other is against you. #WSocialpics #borders

Modern safety science ideas for curious, part 1: Human error should never be a conclusion of an accident investigation. It should be a starting point. The goal of the investigation is to find out why the error happened. #Wsafety

Lou Reed’s ”Perfect Day” is a really good song. It truly catches the vibe of how important the little things are. Enjoying life as it is. Simple and beautiful. Not always perfect and successful but still good. youtu.be/9wxI4KK9ZYo?...

A political-ish opinion (that I rarely express here). UEFA, re-branding European Championships so that the best national teams from South America are invited to join. Best of the best together. That would be a move, much stronger than a boycott.

A horse on top of Glastonbury Tor hill, UK, Europe. In history, Glastonbury Tor used to be an island, surrounded by water. The island was also known as the mythological ”Avalon.” Some say that the holy grail was located there. It also inspired Roxy Music’s album and song with the same name.

A short introduction. I am Finnish, work as an professional pilot in an airline where I also hold an administrative role. I’ve studied international relations and qualitative safety. Keen on safety issues, music, occasional photographing. I 🫶 Europe, dream of a second home somewhere there.

What’s it with my feeds? This morning, I had ”W Users” ”W Media”, ”W Institutions” ajd ”Selected W Users” and ”What’s Hot”, they were there from the very beginning. They disappreared today, and they’re not selectable anymore. Is this a normal feature or a change that everyone encountered?
