I’m not a huge fan of Apple, but I have to admit that the Macbook Air M1 works impressively well after five years. Thinner than my notepad, comfy trackpad and keeps up perfectly for developing A Stranded Spark! Of course I’m not expecting to make anything visually heavy, but works for me! #gamedev

The finish line is closer! I planned A Stranded Spark to be a 6 month project, but life, work, nice feedback and falling in love with the project made me extend the development for almost 2 years. I found between thousands of papers the first design I intended for Guina, quite a change to the last version 😆 Her design is inspired on the traditional catalan puppets called “putxinel•lis” but with a “foxy” look. Also “guineu” in Catalan means “fox”, hance her name 🦊 #indiegame

Love your game, but don't let that love blind you. You need to be able to disconnect emotionally from it. This helps massively when taking on feedback and changing course if things aren't feeling right. It's obvious, but not easy as with most things in this world #gamedev #indiedev #indiegamedev

Viv is 100% correct here. Your options are always one of three: 1. Do not make an indie game. 2. Get funding, usually by making something that fits a very narrow and useless definition of "safe", and subsequently losing agency over your production reality. 3. Have another income or means.

A tiny 3D trick I learnt from a friend: 📦👀 Here you can see how I’m applying the base flat colors by playing with the UV placement and using a single 128x128 texture with ALL the colors that will be used inside the game. ☝🏻🤓 This way I ensure a consistent color palette just using a 2kb image!
