I hope you'll fix the bugs as well. The first time I used it, I immediately ran into multiple bugs, blocking me from doing the very first thing I tried (capture the result of a shader to an image, and then reporting that it doesn't work).

Psycho behavior. I always quit to menu and then quit to desktop, making sure to say goodbye.

An incredible video of a very intriguing technique! I know a bit about text rendering and have dealt with SDFs for text a lot, and this seems like a great alternative. And you explained it so well despite the complexity.

@zed.dev is great, extremely fast and smooth, and has a single toggle to disable all AI integration.

Any chance you could ever allow us to customize/change the storage internals? We are using custom Asset Bundles without Addressables, but we are forced to have the package only for Localization.

It's the "WinRAR model." You can use it for free indefinitely, it just pops up once in a few weeks, asking for a license. After a while, I bought the license to support the devs as it became my main and only git client.

Try Fork! It's a cross-platform native C# app maintained by a passionate couple, free with optional license purchase.

And how do you then assign pixels to the closest palette color, distance in some perceptual space like OKLab?

Crude experiment with custom raytraced shadows in URP via @unity.com's Unified Ray Tracing. Eventually I'm hoping to replace shadow maps with RT and soften them with a bilateral blur. Maybe if I try hard enough, it won't be much slower :)

Didn't expect #Godot area lights to blow up now, but this demo by @passivestar.bsky.social is beautiful! For those new to my acc: the area light PR is my Master's Thesis, I've worked on it for more than 1 year practically fulltime without pay - now, it could be merged any day! 🥹 Support me below!

Awesome! Could you also look into the battery drain on Switch 2? The game seems to eat my battery much faster than most other even big 3D games.

The combination of deciding the blur at the surface but then sampling at the correct POM depth gives a great blurry glass/plastic effect!

I think it could then be useful to evolve the "Exposure" slider to a range mapping input, similar to RenderDoc's (perhaps including the automatic min/max detection). That'd be handy not just for uint textures.

As I was initially only trying to see the contents of one specific uint16 buffer, I just divide the value by 65535. Now I'm working on passing the normalization value via the Display struct. I'm more bothered by the cumbersome blit shader duplication. Hopefully you'll like what I cook up haha.

Fun 5 hour sidequest of adding UInt support to texture visualization in the WebGPU Inspector browser extension, all in an attempt to debug my Unity GBuffer packing. @brendanduncan.bsky.social thanks for making the extension and making it open source! I'll complete this and submit a pull request.

I must say this is quite an interesting experiment, giving the LLM the means to "evolve" up to allowing it to edit its system prompt. I am curious if it will eventually lead to some degenerative behaviors due to re-running on its own output.

Does the monitor not have any OLED care features like dimming after inactivity? My monitor (a fairly expensive one tbf) has a proximity sensor to black out the screen when I'm away from the computer.

Shouldn't realistic local occlusion already be included in a light bake from the baking process? So this would introduce overdarkening

If the blurring is based on the accumulated fog, it should be variable based on the variable density, no? It's admittedly hard to tell how variable it is from the compressed video 😅.
