One of my favorite features for the new BSA update (out now!) is mod quality variations. This means there's a chance for mods to be either degraded or upgraded. I set up some of the upgrades to have a chance to really go wild, which can make it possible to build a deck around a specific super item.

There is certainly an appeal to doing a roguelite. Being able to add and polish parts of the game and know that it'll be seen by new and existing players is very nice compared to our standard campaign structure.

In the new Battle Suit Aces roguelite deckbuilder mode, you can find Shiny editions of cards. I've wanted to do this for so long and creating the look with Eric was just as wonderful as expected. Some of the characters also change into one of their campaign outfits, which tickles me.

Our next BSA update had a noticeable slowdown on Switch whenever main menu buttons animated during selection changes. Turned out that our rounded button triangulation was horrific (top) for no reason at all.

I've been calling our new mode a roguelite for months and then a beta player pointed out that it's actually a roguelike and I feel silly. I had decided that progression of available cards/items/enemies mattered but it seems like it's all about the fully resetting part.
