@theguardian.com These pictures show him in the act, the word 'appear' would imply that there's a doubt as to what they show. There's literal irrefutable evidence right in front of your eyes. Absolutely diabolical reporting standards.

The BBC saw fit to describe Matt Goodwin as an academic in their reporting of him standing for Reform in the Manchester bye election. Absolutely diabolical. Ethno-nationalist grifter with a lose relationship with facts, who used to be an academic is a more accurate portrayal.

Part of my ongoing research looks at farmer protests, which continue both in the UK and EU. The ' I want to support them, but being totally dismayed by them at times' position that I often find myself in is best summed up by this picture. Who looks at Brexit and thinks 'yes, that please'?!

I'm reading One Day Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This by Omar el Akkad. It's excellent and this excerpt below seems particularly prescient in the wave of the ongoing flag stuff in the UK. The fear/negative reaction described is exactly the reason why they're being put up.

Brilliant short read from @adamcalo.bsky.social. I'm reading/writing a lot about farmer identity a lot currently. Adam highlights really well how farmer identity is still dominated by capital production, and how this is incredibly tough for new entrants.

Politicians doing photo ops is almost always involves some level of ridiculousness. Here we have the chancellor in a hi viz, next to two blokes in camouflage. The perfect optic for the 'mixed messaging' around how skint we are. Plenty of money for bombs, not so much for the poorest in society.

16 months ago I gave up my career as a musician to return to academia and study my other great passion, sustainability. I had zero prior relevant academic background and was frankly terrified! Today I graduated with my MSc and won the best dissertation prize. Huge thanks to @dccmckay.bsky.social

En route to observe what will likely be the biggest UK farmer protest in 20 years. The millionaire who bought a farm to avoid inheritance tax and last week said that 'the government wants to ethnically cleanse the Countryside to move in immigrants is seemingly positioned to be the face of them.

Dragged myself out for a gravel ride.....I hate riding in the rain almost as much as I hate the Tories. On balance I'll take the biking though. Both are cold a miserable, but at least there's a bit of good feeling at the end of a wet bike ride.

At the Welsh Labour conference today. Mass farmer protest, Palestine solidarity protest, Unite Union protest.....it's only 11:30am! In case it was in doubt, I'd say that the honeymoon period for Labour is over.
