amazing how bad google has gotten for basic searches. looking for a motorcycle part this morning, google returns two pages of results - two actual sites, with one of them just repeated two dozen times. duckduckgo immediately returns several pages of unique, useful results!

this is primarily how I use my motorbike these days, just going the actual speed limit in school zones. oddly, even though I'm about the same size and going the same speed on my bicycle, everybody passes me on my bicycle but nobody passes me on my motorbike 🤔

why do you imagine the government needs speed cameras if they want to install surveillance cameras. why do they need different cameras to install the ones they want. how are you getting from A to B here. if they want surveillance cameras theyr'e just going to do that, like they are.

a speed camera can not be used for surveillance, by definition. you're talking about an entirely different kind of camera. you can be mad about the latter without being mad at the former. there's no slippery slope here, if they want to put up surveillance cameras they'll just do that.

traffic cameras are required if we want to make the roads safer. it's really that simple, cops will never accomplish this because a) they don't care about most traffic laws and b) they will never have the manpower
