Indeed. It's a GREAT series, fantastic casting and acting, and so much of the dialogue is taken directly from Robert Graves' text. Everybody should see it.

Here's the irony: the US strategic defense is purposefully set-up so that the first sites destroyed in a nuclear attack on the US are the 100's of underground ICBM missile silos in western Nebraska & Wyoming. Nebraskans know this. www.sandiegouniontribune.com/2026/10/05/t...

God needed money. Gay people were the fundraising pitch. I grew up at Bob Jones University, where preaching against people like me helped bring in donations—in God’s name. I tell that story in Secrets of a Gay Marine Porn Star. The new edition is out tomorrow, October 6.

I’m not forgetting it’s #MementoMoriMonday! - This little skull is part of a large ornate tomb in Greyfriars, Edinburgh, where I had a lovely autumnal walk almost a year ago.
A small curved skull facing to the left is positioned on the side of a large tomb. Only a little of the tomb is visible, a carved column. It’s dark stone against a lighter stone wall.

And this never happened. It's a colorized & doctored version of Warren Leffler's B&W 1968 photo of the "March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom." The dead give-away is the failure of the doctored photo to include the dome of the US Capitol at the far end of the Mall (and the added US flags)

But it didn't work for the Egyptians. Akhenaten & Hapshepsut, both victims of systematic erasure, are among the pharaohs most remembered today. The short-term solution made them revered long after all who erased them were forgotten & as the Hebrews knew, the unspoken name is the most powerful.

This ancient Greek figure from the 2,500 year-old Douris Cup looks uncannily like someone working on a laptop! 😲 💻 He’s actually writing with a stylus on a hinged wax writing tablet! The technology has changed, the posture has not! 😂 Altes Museum, Berlin 📷 by me
My photo shows detail from an ancient Greek red-figure kylix (drinking cup) of a young man shown in profile seated on a stool facing right. He wears a knee length cloak (himation) over his left shoulder, which is shown in folds around his waist and upper legs. His right shoulder, chest, and arms are bare. His dark hair is short, and he wears a band around his head. He is looking down at an open rectangular wax writing tablet which he is supporting in his left hand above his lap. In his right hand he holds a metal stylus pen poised over the writing tablet. The wooden writing tablet is hinged like a book and, from this angle, resembles a modern laptop. The figure is part of a scene depicting school lessons in ancient Athens, painted by Douris around 480 BC. On display at the Altes Museum in Berlin.

Tricky to live in an interconnected world. A large majority of the oranges in Uncle Matt's come from Florida with small percentages coming from Mexico and Peru. About 50% of maple syrup used in the US comes from Canada (the rest comes from here). We need each other, at least for breakfast.

Yes this is terrible but what's as bad, maybe worse, is the Democrats now saying they have no intention of impeaching DT should they retain congressional majorities (Rahm Emanuel sneeringly called impeachment a "food fight"). We're toast. www.cnbc.com/2026/10/04/t...

This is bad. But what's worse is the Democrats telegraphing that should they win both houses of Congress in November they have no intention of impeaching and convicting DT. Theoretically, he could be removed from office by March 1. Same words, different tune. We're toast.
