It was damp and cool under the Friday night lights.

Caveat up front: I'm not implying they are as bad as MAGA (belief wise). However, when it comes to political "debate", they should be treated exactly the same way ... ignored if possible, blocked if they won't accept ignored.

This is not the first time I’ve stopped at this park. In fact we try to make this a pit stop almost every time we go through the town, especially if kids are with us.

If you ever find yourself on US 190 in west TX, driving through the town of Iraan, you should definitely take a couple of extra minutes to stop at Alley Oop Land. The park is actually a tribute to V.T Hamlin who wrote the popular Alley Oop comic strip while living in Iraan during the 1930s oil boom.

Clearing skies and a West Texas sunset ... sometimes the best weather happens behind you.

I listen to country music ... but Prime Country on Sirius XM, 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. I have no idea about who most modern country singers are, or their songs.

Do you ever process an image in an "artistic" fashion, but then can't decide whether or not you actually like it?

I haven't really been out on many proper birding walks lately. But that doesn't mean taking my camera out in the back yard can't still be interesting.

Perfectly posed pet portrait. I mean when they look right at you and practically beg “take my picture”, you really have no choice, right?

Today was week 1 of a new collaborative project I'm doing with some of my friends over on Substack. If you're a photographer and have a Substack, you're welcome to contribute B&W images of your own in the coming weeks. justbw.substack.com/p/four-lense...

This Juno Buck Moth Caterpillar sure looks pretty. But those spines are venomous … just like so many other creatures around here. lol, Arizona is the Australia of the U.S. in this regard.

Now that I think about it, what legislation has Congress passed with Democratic support that eroded trans rights? Your issue is with the courts, Trump executive agencies, and conservative state and local governments.

Todd Takes Pictures @tmpic.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

What I'm saying is that the erosion of your human rights is not a result of how Democratic politicians (mis)answer "gotcha" questions from reporters. It's a direct result of Republicans getting elected because of how some of you react to the answer to those dumb "gotcha" questions.

If staying home/abstaining from voting for Democrats in general elections results in Republicans winning, then you have zero chance of a hopeful vision for the future. Primaries is the place for these debates. But sure, keep telling yourself that you're not contributing to making things worse.

There is a much better chance of getting support for something (even if it's not exactly what activists demand) from Talarico than from Ken Paxton.

Whatever complaints people had about Joe Manchin, he was much better than Jim Justice (the GOP Conservative who replaced him). Likewise Fetterman is better than Oz, and Sinema was better than McSally would have been. Trans rights is going to be a tough fight in Texas no matter what. But ...

Today’s #BirdOfTheDay theme is: #Mouthful; any bird with anything in its beak. Okay, so this little hummer is about to have a mouthful of mosquito.

Image of the Severe #Thunderstorm in Sierra Vista Arizona last night. This has been a fun #monsoon, and it's great when it continues full steam ahead well into September.

Just this morning I needed to know if a movie my daughter wants to watch for her birthday is playing near us. I skipped the middleman (search) and just went straight to Gemini to get the answer ... Because as you said, search has been horrible for a long time. I didn't need to see ads for the movie.

Atlantic Birding's #BirdOfTheDay Alt. theme is #Fledglings Just yesterday I was a Ramsey Canyon Preserve here in Sierra Vista Arizona and got to see and photograph this occupied Violet-crowned Hummingbird nest.

Yeah, I don't have the temperament to handle the swings. Heck, I wouldn't even sit down at cash games because of it. Tournaments only, I knew what I could lose and it was no biggie if someone sucked out.

Last week I got a really good deal on a "like new" condition Sony a6000 camera. This morning the TTArtisans 25mm F2.0 manual focus lens I intend to use on it arrived. These are the first couple of test shots. Not bad for a $65 lens on a $200 camera. 😎 #flowers #bloomscrolling
