The Apex Kickstarter has begun! Please consider supporting the magazine for 2027. They pay pro rates for the fiction they publish, and the kickstarter has lots of cool rewards this year, like critiques for a short story or manuscript.

Also fathers with daughters! My dad took me to see Weird Al a few times as a kid, and I still go see his concerts whenever he's in town.

Some days, you put your shirt on right side out with the front side facing front. Other days, you put it on inside out and backwards and it takes half an hour before you notice. I know what type of day it is for me. What type of day is it for you?

Today, my Oblique Strategy card said: "Do nothing for as long as possible." But I didn't like that one because I have a story due tomorrow night, etc. So I put that card back and pulled another (something I never do). It said "Take a break." 🧐

Okay fountain pen fans, I have a new favorite ink*: Pilot Iroshizuku Syo-ro! (Dew on Pine Tree) It's more green-teal than Ku-Jaku (Peacock), it's on the wetter side but dries fast, it's a great shader, and -- my favorite part -- it changes hue as it dries! *Subject to change daily

At least their fresh scrubs are on the same floor. One time I had to ride a half-full elevator down 11 floors in poop-splattered scrubs to get a fresh pair 😆

Agree!!! IMO, it's also the most medically accurate medical tv show that I've ever watched

Yeah, turns out I had to singlehandedly land the capsule, and pull the astronauts out of the hatch, and then I could relax.

Me: Moon observation Livestream is amazing and mind-blowing 😍 Me: 😭😭😭 They're naming the crater Carroll 😭😭😭 Also me: Wait, was that a Nutella flyby?

A screenshot from the NASA Livestream: a container of Nutella breaks loose from storage and floats through the cabin past the astronauts of Integrity / Artimis II

I really like being an armchair astronaut. Am excellent at saying nominal. Good luck out there, Integrity! 🙌🌕

Love that! I love to match the ink to my pen, except black pens, which I took with anything. What pink ink do you use? I like a really color saturated ink and/or a really good shader and haven't found one in pink yet that I like

T.L. Najjar @tlnajjar.bsky.social · 15/01/2026

I agree! I like all the different filling mechanisms. I thought, when I first started, I'd get annoyed with doing the regular maintenance, but it's become one of my favorite parts

I SECOND SHIMMER INKS ✨ I also like the rainbow nib on the TWISBI 580 when I use glitter inks b/c I'm convinced it adds stylistic flourish to glitter application 🤩

T.L. Najjar @tlnajjar.bsky.social · 15/01/2026

Yes! I also love the fun of figuring out what size nib is *yours* and how the nib brings such personality to the page!

Look what I just finished knitting: A Dragon Scale Blanket! (Pattern designed by Laura Ann's Handcrafted Goods) Details: Worsted weight yarn, size 8 (5mm) needles, 72 inches long, 484 rows, 208 stitches per row Time to completion: 15 months 😅

A hand-knitted blanket, navy blue with dragon scale pattern, sits, folded, on a wooden table.
