Apparently I’m one of the people eligible for the healthcare “refund”/bribe Tr*mp is mailing out. What in the capitalization hell is going on with this letter?
Letter reading: For years, the Biden Administration overcharged you to fund the operation of HealthCare.gov. That money belongs to hard-working Americans, not the Government, and now, I am returning it to you!
With this Historic Action, my Administration is taking the surplus funds that accumulated from the Obamacare
"Premium Tax" and issuing a one-time $500 REFUND to Americans who use the HealthCare.gov platform to purchase their health insurance, but who do not receive Taxpayer Subsidies to help pay for their Coverage. You have paid into this flawed System, and now you are finally getting something back.
Healthcare Dollars should benefit Patients, not Insurance Companies or Government Bureaucrats. Since returning to office, I have fought to lower Healthcare Costs, increase Accountability, and Put Patients First.
Through TrumpRx, we are delivering massive discounts on Household Prescription Drugs, and my Most-Favored-Nation Pricing Agreements have already saved Americans more than 1 Billion Dollars on much-needed Medications. We also secured an unprecedented 50 Billion Dollar investment to transform Rural Healthcare, expanded access to Health Saving Accounts for millions of people on Obamacare, and restored Price Transparency, all while rooting out the Waste, Fraud, and Abuse across our Healthcare System.
I am proud to return your money to you, and I will never stop fighting to put the American People FIRST. restore Affordability, protect your hard-earned money, and lower the Cost of Healthcare.
May God bless you, and may He continue to bless the United States of America!
Sincerely,
DONALD J. TRUMP
PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

This is who you’re hurting when you use snap traps! This young skunk reached for bait in the trap and got his paw stuck. He’d probably been there all night and might have been stuck longer if my friend hadn’t seen this and called me to help. Do. Not. Put. Traps. In. Your. Yard.

Got to see the very controversial tablescape at the Oregon State Fair today.
À tablescape in gold with a runner showing the reflecting pool filled with algae. Instead of drinks Diet Coke is on The table. Judging notes read: “While this table was set nicely and attractively, the Oregon State Fair has certain guidelines for the America 250 Division. According to the Decorated Tables and Tabletop Trees Exhibitors Handbook of 2026, "entries must...be non-political and free of trademarked or commercial imagery". Because of those two items, significant deductions were made to this entry.
We appreciate exercising our first amendment freedom of speech while following the Oregon State Fair criteria.”

Absolutely delighted that I got to listen to this episode while on my way to release some rehabbed skunks. These stinkpeas had been orphaned and I spent so much time making them leaf-based skunk enrichment when they were in care. I think they were amazed to find crunchy leaves all around them!

I don’t get the “birds aren’t real” thing but I am actually shocked that this Lazuli Bunting is a real bird that exists in the same world I do.
A lazuli bunting perches on a grass stem in the middle of a field. He has a perfectly indigo blue head, copper neck and off white belly with a black tail.

Today I learned Hey, Arnold! is NOT set in NYC but some fictional mashup of Seattle, Portland, and Brooklyn I have never felt more lied to!
After network executives responded positively to the character, Bartlett developed the show's cast and setting using inspiration from people and locations from his childhood in Seattle, Washington, Portland, Oregon, and Brooklyn, New York. Bartlett created the pilot episode in his living room in 1994, and full production began in 1995. The series transitioned from clay animation in its early
concept stages to cel animation for its first three seasons, before later adopting digital ink-and-paint techniques for its final two seasons.

Just saw this letter from The Sun that the IRS has revoked their nonprofit status. I know of several magazines that operate as nonprofits and wonder if this is a standalone event or something that’s going to be a sweeping change moving forward? www.thesunmagazine.org/articles/289...
For the first time since 1986, your donation to The Sun will not be
tax-deductible. Following a routine audit precipitated by financial losses we experienced during COVID, the IRS decided that what we do here does not differ significantly from the activity of a commercial publication. Yes, we hold workshops and retreats, collaborate with educators, and provide free subscriptions to prisoners, classrooms, and readers facing hardship, but mostly we publish a magazine, which is not a recognized charitable activity. As a result, our federal tax-exempt status has been revoked.

Finishing up this memoir by a woman who joined her husband to live in the arctic in the 1930s. They had a teenage daughter at home who I guess was fine. Happy Mother’s Day! (Really love this book so far. Moms should have wild adventures too.)

This review of UNDER THE HENFLUENCE might be my favorite one yet. The four stars adds so much mystery. Is one star being taken away because it led to her getting chickens? Are chickens themselves proving to be a 4-star experience? A real “baby shoes never worn” of a review. #chicken

Picked up Ilya Kaminsky’s DEAF REPUBLIC today and this was the first poem. With solidarity to everyone protesting today.
We Lived Happily during the War
And when they bombed other people's houses, we
protested
but not enough, we opposed them but not
enough. I was
in my bed, around my bed America
was falling: invisible house by invisible house by invisible house-
I took a chair outside and watched the sun.
In the sixth month
of a disastrous reign in the house of money
in the street of money in the city of money in the country of money, our great country of money, we (forgive us
lived happily during the war.

Oh you “SAY WHAT YOU THINK WITH BLUNT FRANKNESS” do you??
"Ben Weatherstaff, he answered, and then he added with a surly chuckle, "I'm lonely mysel' except when he's with me," and he jerked his thumb toward the robin. "He's th' only friend I've got."
"I have no friends at all," said Mary. "I never had. My Ayah didn't like me and I never played with anyone." It is a Yorkshire habit to say what you think with blunt frankness, and old Ben Weatherstaff was a Yorkshire moor man.
"Tha' an' me are a good bit alike," he said. "We was wove out of th' same cloth. We're neither of us good lookin' an' we're both of us as sour as we look. We've got the same nasty tempers, both of us, I'll warrant."

I’m reading the book The Secret Garden and Mary Lennox is the most autistic coded child I’ve ever come across.
she should ever see him, but she knew that if she did she should not like him, and he would not like her, and that she should only stand and stare at him and say nothing, though she should be wanting dreadfully to ask him why he had done such a queer thing.
[highlighted text]” People never like me and I never like people," she thought. "And I never can talk as the Crawford children could. They were always talking and laughing and making noises." [end highlight]
She thought of the robin and of the way he seemed to sing his song at her, and as she remembered the tree-top he perched on she stopped rather suddenly on the path.
"I believe that tree was in the secret garden—I feel sure it was," she said. "There was à wall round the place and there was no door."
