teak @tk0l.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Starting a new series called Teak Talk. Have no idea what it will be about. No clue what the format or medium is either. Really have zero plans or ideas for what Teak Talk is or is supposed to be but it’s not every day a name that good falls in your lap. 110

teak @tk0l.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Point Roberts, WA is a U.S. exclave at the tip of a Canadian peninsula that barely crosses the 49th parallel. It is 5 sq miles and has a population of 1,191. There is a K-2 school on the U.S. side of the border but all other students must cross an international border 4x/day to go to school. 000

teak @tk0l.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Hah, that would be a terrible design flaw, but doesn't appear to be the case. According the the Helios FAQ, all trustees must provide their keys in order to decrypt the results. vote.heliosvoting.org/faq 190
teak @tk0l.bsky.social · 25/09/2026lmao how did I miss this. A group of cryptographers held an "secure" election using some fancy cryptography but one of the election trustees lost their decryption key and so the professional society of cryptologists couldn't figure out who won. teak @tk0l.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Something halfway between qualiamaxxing and a post-ironic exercise in leaning in, iirc Akin to Mallory’s “Because it’s there” but swap “Mount Everest” for “wearing Hawaiian shirts and getting drunk at the Times Square Margaritaville” 010

teak @tk0l.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Hah, no I think this is a different one. Many stave churches just happen to look very similar. My pic is of the Borgund stave church, which AFAIK has been standing unburned since 1200AD. Easily confused with the Fantoft stave church (near Bergen) which was burned in 1992 and rebuilt shortly after.en.wikipedia.orgFantoft Stave Church - Wikipedia 141
