Matt TK Taylor @tk.gg · 28/09/2026The coolest thing, of course, with EmDash 1.0 is that @mk.gg has managed to lever atproto into it. EmDash plugins are decentralised, published and downloaded from atproto. It's a really awesome system. WordPress community members will remember the ACF plugin fiasco. That is just not possible here. 0100
Matt TK Taylor @tk.gg · 28/09/2026And – though I had very little to do with this – I'm very proud of what @mk.gg and the team around @emdashcms.com have created. Matt TK Taylor @tk.gg · 24/09/2026Teaching myself that the best interface I have is voice dictating into a box at the bottom of a monospaced terminal, when I have spent so much of my life enjoying pleasant and effortful UI design has been a challenge. But I'm learning to accept it. 020
Matt TK Taylor @tk.gg · 24/09/2026I've just added an MCP to an agent-simulator I've built to sandbox a bunch of different harnesses and play around with CLI improvements. And I'm so regretful I didn't do this earlier. Forms, even chat interfaces, in tools are so dead. The harness is the universal interface. 220

Matt TK Taylor @tk.gg · 09/09/2026Thanks for the feedback! Would you prefer a plain.project-push.tk.gg version? One of the things I like about Bluesky is you can just create a feed for each unique case. I was considering at one point creating a bbc.project-push.tk.gg cnn.project-push.tk.gg etc version 110

Matt TK Taylor @tk.gg · 14/08/2026Maybe... Just maybe... They could come up with a system with an alert sound that doesn't give everyone a heart attack. I mean I don't want to give them an excuse to use it more regularly, but if they are anyway, then this is going to get old fast. 130
Matt TK Taylor @tk.gg · 14/08/2026Hahaha I just saw that here www.gov.uk/alerts It says "2 active alerts", one for England and Wales, and one for Wales. So I'm guessing everyone got two? 👌👌gov.ukAbout Emergency AlertsYour mobile phone or tablet may get an emergency alert if there’s a danger to life nearby. Alerts tell you what to do to stay safe. 110
Matt TK Taylor @tk.gg · 14/08/2026Yeah in retrospect this was almost comedic for someone who was tapping through the internet at the time (me). If I wasn't it would have been a lot more adrenaline busting. 100
Matt TK Taylor @tk.gg · 14/08/2026If there was a nuclear war do you think we'd make it to the alert about the alert 010
Matt TK Taylor @tk.gg · 14/08/2026Well that was the dumbest preemptive alert ever. Remember all that messaging about the test because of the fear of hidden phones being discovered. Did "the possibility of wildfires" meet that bar? 480
Matt TK Taylor @tk.gg · 11/08/2026I think I'm probably too hypertext-pilled also from years of digital media. I feel a lot of the approximations journalese makes for general audiences or to bulk up or cut down stories for space in print are so irrelevant now. Give me the approximation and then give me an on-hover actual number. 010

Matt TK Taylor @tk.gg · 11/08/2026Android users who are annoyed by ads in push notifications: have you gone through the effort of trying to work out which notification channel is which, have you just turned off notifications entirely, or do you live with it in some way? 131
Matt TK Taylor @tk.gg · 04/08/2026This is a great read on AI and design. So many people get stuck with finessing a button when it's the composite that really matters.
