I had Fable download the 50Hz data from the 3D BBC player of the Croatia Portugal controversy, and explain it step by step.

The cross, the invisible touch, and the finish (t−3.4 s → goal)

t−3.38 s – Perišić's delivery. From (26.7, 26.3) he strikes the cross at 26.2 m/s (94 km/h). It climbs to a 3.60 m apex over the penalty-spot line and comes down through a corridor of bodies – it clears Portugal's #15 (0.19 m horizontal, ball 3.35 m up, unreachable) and Croatia's #3 with no speed change.

t−1.90 s – the Matanović touch. Ball at (40.09, 0.09), height 2.12 m, passing 0.01 m horizontally from Croatia's #20 Matanović – dead-centre over his head, in an aerial duel with Portugal's #3. Speed dips 16.9 → 16.4 m/s. That ~0.5 m/s change is within optical-tracking noise, which is precisely why nothing was visible on TV – it took the Connected Ball Technology IMU inside the ball to prove the contact (Matanović himself: "I felt slight contact with my hair"). I really like the BBC waiting here for a notification that actually has some context on what the UAE exiting Opec means but I think the text could assume less that the reader knows already. This could be the first they hear of it. Sell that you have analysis that quickly.

In this case the model choice matters a lot. I'm not sure how you got to your variant, but even Gemini 3.1 Flash produces something much closer to your take. Sonnet 4.6 also. It of course depends on how much of what you are making a point on is evident in the accompanying text content also.

Almost unbelievabley, X, the everything app, might have made a decision with positive ramifications for the suppression of misinformation.

A post from X head of Product Nikita Bier, known otherwise for bait apps for tweenagers, stating: "Today we are revising our Creator Revenue Sharing policies to maintain authenticity of content on Timeline and prevent manipulation of the program.

During times of war, it is critical that people have access to authentic information on the ground. With today’s AI technologies, it is trivial to create content that can mislead people.

Starting now, users who post AI-generated videos of an armed conflict—without adding a disclosure that it was made with AI—will be suspended from Creator Revenue Sharing for 90 days. Subsequent violations will result in a permanent suspension from the program.

This will be flagged to us by any post with a Community Note or if the content contains meta data (or other signals) from generative AI tools.

We will continue to refine our policies and product to ensure X can be trusted during these critical moments."

Congratulations to Reuters for having the fastest scraper I guess? And commiserations to the OBR for not thinking about how their backend should not be overloaded by a rush if they had implemented a CDN appropriately. But they seem to have implemented nothing appropriately so quelle surprise.

The OBR website logs and its security operations centre data have been made fully available
to the investigation team. This is the basis of the technical conclusions in this report. As the
timeline in the previous chapter establishes:
• The Economic and fiscal outlook (EFO) was accessible between 11:30 and 12:08 for
anyone with access to the internet address, or URL (and appears to have been more
broadly discoverable for at least a very small part of this time as it was cached by the
Internet Archive at 12:07 – it is assumed that this happened briefly and accidentally in
the rush to remove the page).
• During that period, it was accessed 43 times by 32 unique IP addresses.
• The first access was at 11:35. This came from an IP address which had attempted to
connect to the URL of the EFO on some 32 occasions on that day. In all, seven
different IP addresses tried to connect to the URL before 11:30, with 44 unsuccessful
attempts in total.
• The first evidence that the EFO was publicly available came at 11:41, when Reuters
published a news alert entitled ‘UK OBR ECONOMIC AND FISCAL OUTLOOK:
BUDGET TAX RISES RAISE 26.1 BLN STG BY 2029-30’.
• The EFO PDF was removed at 12:08.
