How's THAT, sharp shooter? ;3 Awesome commission from @averagetoony.bsky.social, featuring @heshbat.bsky.social! I got to visit the UK several years ago, and got to see some great pals, including this goober taking me to the arcade! :3 Thanks so much for capturing this moment for us! ^^

I also... Forgot to bring the remote that controlled the LEDs... xD But here's what it would've looked like with remote... IF I HAD ONE! I'll take some fursuit pics with that effect later. ^^

I found a large beach ball with an internal LED-puck as the base, then: - Patterned the shape - Sewed it together - Tie-dyed it - Carefully marked rings around it and taped it up - Painted the stripes with acrylic - Stitched in a loop at the top - wired it along the pole and through the loop!

Can't fit my reply / personal exp into a post, but yeah this thread definitely stirred some emotions. I really... really want to find a *good* place to work. 20 years of experience. I had a reputation for immaculate consistency, bug-free code, self-managing, "the guy to throw hard problems at".

This all rings so true. At least half my time at my last game dev job was burned on features that ranged from mostly-useless to actively bad, all to make some numbers on a spreadsheet look better, to attract investors who had no vision beyond dollar signs.

To no surprise, my company tanked and we all lost our jobs. There was a deep and honest drive from our company to make the game *GOOD* and keep a healthy social environment for players.

But investors choked us out, then cut us off because the things we had to do to please them killed the game, and execs were too desperate to push back. There was so much internal feedback from on-the-ground workers. Ideas that were fun, that delivered new experiences our players craved.

They were always met with garbage like, "What's the ROI on that?", "Let's add that to our wants-list", "We must prioritize <expensive feature> to increase store click-through rate."

Wheeeeeeeeeeee! Necrobinder clear on A10! Previously cleared Defect. The others are sitting at A7. Honestly having to unlock difficulties one at a time per character just to get to A10 is what's really making me play so infrequently now.

I've been sparse online and socially the last few weeks. Mom's health got really bad recently, and I've been doing everything I can to support her even more. Hospice looked likely last week, but we're seeing some hope again. Details in screenshot w/alt text.

Well, I'm in NJ again. Mom's health has been declining more... A few weeks ago she collapsed and was hospitalized from a bad fever. She's stable now, but the bigger issue is her neurological condition.

It's been slowly taking her balance, vision, speech, and her ability to eat safely. Recently, her memory and cognition have declined, too. After her collapse, docs said she needed to get a feeding tube surgery.

Worst was the docs saying it's likely behind her atrophy, and that it's a degenerative condition, which will eventually be terminal.

The last few weeks have been a nightmare, but I've been doing my best to meet the moment and support her; managing bills/banks, house maintenance, coordinating w/docs, social workers, care providers, etc.

The good news is that she started regaining some weight, up to 101 lbs from 98 earlier. She's getting a bit stronger, too. Hospice looked likely last week, but this gives us a lot of hope for some better quality of life before we reach that point.

My presence here has been bringing her comfort and helping her get more grounded. I'm also getting the house fixed up and ready for her hopeful return. My career/project work has stalled entirely the last month, but it's a necessary sacrifice. I'm very eager to get back home and resume my life, but it will come soon enough.

The last couple weeks had such frequent interruptions, but I made some progress on the twitch RPG raid game! Added a grid-like system, chatters can change positions, and lil KO animations. Was testing off-stream, so I used TK-clones, but it uses chatter's icons & commands in real time!

In more fun news, I beat my first Ascension 10 run in Slay the Spire II last night. 🔥🔥🔥 Act 2 was absolutely treacherous and I got down to 2 hp. On the Act 3 boss I forgot there was another boss after, and used all my potions early. Made it tho. :3
