Ooooh that’s fun. Optum isn’t contracted with any of the VSPs that Medicaid uses, and legally(?) isn’t allowed to check me in for self-pay. So I don’t get to see my optho today. Glad I got the bagels, I guess. And I suppose I now have unlimited time to go down to Matt’s.

In the past hour, travel time estimate (without Matt's) has gone from 90 minutes to 60 to 75. I'm going to assume 90, and give myself an extra 30 of buffer, which means I'll probably arrive to my doctor's office an hour early. ::P

Fun fact: Roe Messner, who Tammy Faye married after Jim, had an estate, a housing development, and a golf course in my tiny home town outside Wichita. I lived less than a mile from his place for almost all my pre-teen years. So we heard a lot about [waves hands] all of that as it played out.

Managed to search PT clinics, and the options are slim, but I've found one reasonably convenient that should be covered. NOT one of the ones I'd identified last week, but whatev. Should call and make an appointment, but no, too irritable now. Maybe tomorrow.

@theowrites there was a pie place along I-5, somewhere around centralia, that we used to try to pop into when possible. They made the most amazing chocolate peanut butter pies. Then we found out they were MAGA. Then they went out of business. Ah well.

Ok. Called back, explained the situation again, and was assured that only ongoing income matters, so I'm back on medicaid. At least until/unless I get a job with health insurance. Hopefully I can use a recording of this call as evidence if things go sideways. ::P
