Glossy Ibis have been the main feature of the last few days on Tiree. Difficult to know how many individuals there's been, but probably at least 14. This bird at Cornaigbeg showed very well in the driving rain this pm. The Baird's Sandpiper still present today too. #birdingscotland

12 Great Yellow Bumblebees recorded in 1 hour on the machair at Hough, Tiree on Sunday (13th) was the rather late peak count of the year here. Almost all were males (some very bleached) in a mixed summer for them due to prolonged wet spells after a promising start @bumblebeetrust.bsky.social

Green Sandpipers are very scarce annual migrants on Tiree and it's rare to see them on the ground (usually just in flight), so nice to watch one feeding yesterday in wet ground from our upstairs windows yesterday at Balephuil, with two there today #BirdingScotland #PWC2026

Fledged Dunnock today in the Balephuil garden - only the 2nd confirmed successful breeding record of this species for the island! A good year for other rare breeders in the garden including fledged Chiffchaffs, Whitethroats and Goldfinches plus an early juv Cuckoo on 1 July #BirdingScotland #PWC2026
