Um. No. Isn’t the name of this journal “Nature”? Know what we know about the environmental and other harms of AI, this is deeply disturbing and hypocritical. 🧪🌏🦠🧬

When you roll up to the #birding #stakeout to see something really rare and some well-meaning newbie assumes you're equally excited by the "Canadian Goose" right in front of you.
Five still images from 1962's King Kong versus Godzilla depicting military officers pointing and staring through binoculars at Godzilla in the distance. Out of context, they look like they might be birding, and there are text boxes of dialogue indicating that the main character with binoculars is searching for a rare and exciting bird. A subordinate steps into the frame to say "Sir, I think that's Godzilla" and the general with the binoculars seems to sneer at him for stating something so patently obvious as to be silly.

In an era of predatory journals, substandard reviewing and AI slop, the peer review process is becoming increasingly frustrating. This Freudian slip in our latest cover letter draft might just be the new word that we are all looking for, where revisions and reviews are dominated by rebuttals! 🌐🌎🧪
A new word: revut (verb) /rɪˈvʌt/ : to argue repetitively that statements or claims are not true in order to correct or improve an idea, piece of writing etc.

Digital painting of a green woodpecker clinging to the side of a tree. It has red on the top of its head, black around the eye and bill, cream on the side of the head, neck, and belly, and a soft, dull green on its back, tail, and wings.
