There is still tremendous support for Ukraine from many American people. What changed on our side is that Donald Trump was elected president. Our country’s support for Ukraine’s resistance against Russian aggression faded because one man chose to do so. I am sorry. We are trying to change that.

We seem kindred Ryan S. I will have to Google 🤬 Canadian Shield. Our farm is in Eastern Kansas. Our timber along Switzler Creek in Osage County, KS contains black walnut, hickory, red elm, oak and maple. We don’t log it, and none of our LLC future designates will either.

My three siblings and I have a small farm, about 151 acres. We took more than 20% of our tillable acres out of production on both sides of the creek that runs through our bottom ground. We put it into CRP to filter herbicides and fertilizer out of the creek. Some farmers are stewards. We are.

I live in a solidly blue state that suffers yearly from devastating wildfires. People lose homes, businesses, and sometimes, their lives. Wildfire doesn’t consider the voting habits of the people in the path. Have some compassion. No one deserves to suffer because they vote a certain way.

I know many people like cats. I grew up on a farm and we had many cats. They kept the mice and rats in check. I actually had several favorites that I adored. I live in town now and the neighborhood cats prey on the birds that come to my feeders. It is not their fault, they are just cats.

But, my grandma in Wyoming once whipped a rope out at a magpie that was bugging her and snapped it’s head off. She left it lying there and said “let that be a lesson to the rest of them”. My mom, her daughter, grew up on horseback and won sharpshooter medals. I am her daughter 😀.

Well, we did fight to become a free state. “Bloody Kansas” after all. Lawrence, Kansas, especially, paid a very heavy price. There is a reason John Brown and his followers continue to blaze in full color on the walls of the rotunda in the statehouse in Topeka.

I currently cannot join any active protests. But I do financially support several public radio broadcasters in Oregon. OPB, and KLCC and KRVM, out of Eugene KRVM broadcasts Indian Time on Thursday nights. Stream it if you are not local. The variety of Native American music is captivating.

There is a recently-installed CCA-treated southern pine utility pole right next to that broken pole. The broken pole was stubbed and the duct tape is a joke. When a utility line is repaired, they don’t worry about removing the old poles right away. They just work to get the power back on.
