It's 10:30pm, the house is dead quiet, and I'm editing photos at the dining room table. My 19yo grown-ass adult child strolls nonchalantly into the kitchen and lets loose an absolutely EARTH-shaking belch. I swear to God the windows rattled...

Letting go? #sunset #photography #pugetsound #silhouette #pnw #beach
A person, in silhouette, walks along the beach after sunset with a hand outstretched toward the water as if they are dropping sand. A dock (with lights), some pilings are on the left in the distant foreground, and the Olympic Mountains and red clouds of the sunset are in the background.

Well, it's that time of year here in the Pacific Northwest, where my desperate attempts to cram in a few more golden hour outings before the days get too short practically guarantees that dinner is either late or cold every night. #photography #pnw #fall #goldenhour

Bit of an ominous-looking cloud rolls into Seattle just after sunset, taken from the UW ramp on the Burke-Gilman trail near Husky Stadium, just before 8pm Thursday September 10. #wawx #clouds #uw #photography #ominous #fall #sunset
A dark cloud on the left takes up about half of the frame, with the mostly clear sky sunset still relatively well-lit on the right. The photo was taken facing the west. Streetlights line the concrete ramp to the Burke-Gilman trail that curves a bit to the left as it crosses the street below (street below is not visable).

Just another stunning Edmonds waterfront sunset. This place is a cheat code for beauty, and especially with the cool breeze tonight, it was another all-around spectacular summer evening. We are lucky to be alive; we are lucky to be here, now. #edmonds #marina #dock #sunset #boats #photography

Earlier tonight, passengers waiting to board the last M/V Puyallup run after the Kingston fireworks sung the Star Spangled Banner. It was genuinely kind of moving. But right after that, the ferry reached capacity and had to leave a bunch of us here. 😂 Word is they are making an extra run, though.

Obscure thought of the morning: "I wonder if anyone has done a study of how the Zeigarnik effect applies for various Claude Code settings.json configurations." I might have kicked off a "few" Claude Code sessions "Just so I can stop thinking about this for now" and it worked a little too well.

Watching Shadows Under the Market at seattlepublictheater.org was easily one of the highlights of 2025. Criminally underrated. I still can't believe this just ran for a little over a week and didn't go insanely viral, at least regionally. Such a great show. #theater #seattle
