NW London Time Machine @timenw.bsky.social · 27/09/2026An accidental find on ebay. This used book of matches is from The Starlight Grill at the Abercorn Arms, Stanmore. I am going to make a guess that it dates from the early 1970s. At that time the Abercorn & the other pubs listed on the inside was owned by Benskins, the Watford Brewers. 130

NW London Time Machine @timenw.bsky.social · 10/09/2026This Camden Council signage on Eversholt Street looks like it's been there a long time. I reckon it went up at the same time as the tower block it is attached to. My guess it went up in the late 1960s. 030

The Church was built between 1824 and 1827, and had been in need of restoration. Fortunately the charity group Friends of St Mary's has secured monies through fundraising. NW London Time Machine @timenw.bsky.social · 04/09/20263. In 1961 we are looking from the 1918 hangers in image 1, over to the Grahame White hanger. This was moved to its current site in the early 2000s. I contributed my 'now' photos to the @reelstreets.bsky.social website. You can see the rest of the locations on there. 030
NW London Time Machine @timenw.bsky.social · 04/09/20262. I eventually identified the building behind the police car as the RAF Supply Control Centre, which was opened in June 1962. At the point of filming in the winter of 1961 it was still under construction. The same location now is covered by the Beaufort Park residential complex 120

NW London Time Machine @timenw.bsky.social · 31/08/2026The building was pulled down in the 1980s/90s. Using an image from Renwick's book we can just make it out. So the later photo is taking from the other direction, around 1969 when construction started on the Grahame Park Estate. 010
NW London Time Machine @timenw.bsky.social · 31/08/2026On further investigation and consulting Andrew Renwick's book, it was actually called the Supply Control Centre and dealt with, supplies. As it says, completed in June 1962. That's a year after filming of 'Emergency' took place, 1962 was its release date. 110
NW London Time Machine @timenw.bsky.social · 31/08/2026I posted earlier that @talkingpicstv is showing the 1962 film 'Emergency' this morning @reelstreets.bsky.social has an entry for this film, with screen grabs of locations.
