There's zero public good in trying to ban future state tax in any category, period, end. Plus, the spend on the GOP will dwarf whatever cred he thinks he's getting with the super rich. I wish some scandal would come out that tanks him as a candidate for Prez (I know, didn't sink Trxmp, but still).

Hope so!! What brings you to that conclusion? ICE in Minneapolis? GOP staying home? That poll is an outlier? I don't know much about MN other than Minneapolis uniting Minnesotans had a lasting impact. I have family in a deep red rural area.

I am really not convinced that Dems are gonna flip the Senate and if they do, the margin will fall way short of what's needed. Whatever happens, we cannot afford to position Fetterman as a consequential up or down vote for the next 2 years.

Good perspective. I saw NYPD response in the 2020 BLM protests and it wasn't pretty (side note: big 2020 question, does one wear a mask to outdoor protests?). If someone experienced says today's response is less extreme, I'm thankful our protesters aren't just shackled and tossed in police vehicles.

Until Yankee fans stop buying tickets and merch, the team can stay meh with a meh manager. Business is fine if they limp into the playoffs and get dusted by the division series. For management change it will take fans shutting off the wallets or repeat playoff misses. I feel bad for Judge.

Without warning or consultation, Congress just received an $810 million package of pocket rescissions from the Administration. This is the most recent attempt by this Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to undermine Congress’s Constitutional power of the purse.

This move shows that OMB intentionally withheld these funds for months to execute this unlawful cancellation of appropriations that were approved on a bipartisan basis and signed into law.

Not only is the delay itself an impoundment that was not reported to Congress, but also it is a usurpation of Congress’s appropriations powers. OMB is an agency of the executive branch. It does not get to decide which programs are worth funding.

The independent Government Accountability Office has concluded that pocket rescissions are unlawful and not permitted by the Impoundment Control Act. Any effort to rescind appropriated funds without congressional approval is a clear violation of the law.

I will work with my colleagues to address these illegal actions.

Plenty of people say voting does nothing (thankfully very few who read my stuff). The infallible response is below ⤵️. Today, SCOTUS acted to disenfranchise more voters. No process or oral arguments. Please remind any folks in your life who are unhappy, but discouraged, that their vote is power.
