Reading @alyssamatesic.bsky.social and Patrick "QueryTracker" McDonald's THE MODERN GUIDE TO QUERYING LITERARY AGENTS... It says a lot of things that I learned on my own, but it ALSO has stuff I never heard, so it was DEFINITELY WORTH BUYING. If you're new to querying, definitely read this book.

Today's creative excitement: Not only did I do more tax planning and spreadsheet work (yay!), I did a long-overdue Kon Mari on my writing drawers. Many writing instruments went to the graveyard of Tools No Longer Worth The Trouble (which is just down the coast from the Island Of Misfit Toys.)

Two drawers of writing instruments: pencils (regular and mechanical), drafting erasers, sharpies, ink pens, markers, and a few stray SD cards and thumb drives. Alongside the drawers are two pages used to test the pens.

It's like those Your-child's-name-in-their-own-book! scams where the story was complete pablum and did nothing for the children themselves. I'm also reminded of the flabbosaurian passengers in Wall-E.

Spreadsheets are *so cool*! And if people keep their money in bank/investment accounts instead of Carl Barks-style money bins, a spreadsheet can replace the money bin's balcony.
