No no, I see the vision. I can 100% see Zeff not knowing or caring about 'correct language,' but throwing ANYONE who misgenders overboard by the leg. And also accidentally bullying staff members out of eating disorders. Sexuality? Not a problem. Trying to fillet with a steak knife? Big problem.

It's like Harriet the Spy wrote a coming-of-age story and used lycanthropy and witchcraft as metaphors for a plethora of real-world issues, and also a vehicle to force the confrontation of those issues within their own lives by the characters. Boom, easy. ;P

And I didn't learn about it being similar to autism in regards to just how much it influences your EVERYTHING until about 2015/16. And it /hurts/, looking back now and seeing all the ways I needed support and help that I didn't and couldn't get, because we didn't know.

I had a different but similar experience to this. I got diagnosed in 2000 and put on Adderall (which works well for me), but that was it. Because that was all that was seen as needing to be done back then; no one even described ADHD as a disability to me until 2007.

Because I like to take canon and see how much fanon I can stuff in the cracks without breaking it. I've had people reading BOTH of these fics get broadsided by /well-known canon events/. Ex: the moon getting blown up in DBZ. (It happens twice, they're both plot-significant.)

As for things being obvious... as someone who's been writing fanfic since 2007, you'd be AMAZED how much people just... don't think of or notice. I've got two mega!fics, one complete, one ongoing, both of which are universe alterations - basically set in the main setting with minor tweaks.

girls' trend. And, at this point, at least? Both mindsets are toxic as fuck. Calling things 'basic' was just a way to demonize popular stuff (especially in female spaces). It's like calling someone 'basic' for saying Luffy is their fav, because 'he's the main character and everyone likes him 🙄'.
