one of the many reasons CLO's great is because it can be used to pattern and simulate anything sewable, including "accessories" like shoulder pads, sleeve heads, zippers, and pockets.

there's a split view between 2D and 3D. skipping quite a few steps, but it's these initial, flattened, 3d pen, drapes that i edit and simulate until i've got a silhouette i like and a pattern that works.

all patterning was done in my software of choice, CLO. of its many features, CLO has a 3d pen tool that lets you draw on an avatar. effectively, it's digital draping. CLO then lets you "flatten" your drawings and work on them in 2D and 3D simultaneously.
