The Front-End Community is Still Alive and Beautiful
I thought about dropping an addendum into my last post to say just how overwhelmed I am, in the best possible way, by the way all of you in the front-end community have shown up to show support, both for me and for CSS-Tricks. I started to do that but then felt a new post...

I was definitely guilty of customizing the appearance of scrollbars when I built my first websites in the early 2000s. 😄

Sometimes you look at an old HTML document and see some weird tags and snippets from bygone eras. I've complied many legacy HTML bits I've noticed and documented what they were and why there were present. Many of them are rather obscure. Satisfy your curiosity: vale.rocks/posts/html-r...

Antiquated HTML Snippets and Artefacts
Overviews of the very many snippets of code that were once commonly included on websites to address specific cases with certain technologies, browsers, operating systems, or extensions. Fragments dating back to the days of Internet Explorer and Netscape, to more modern bits that are nonetheless obsolete.

This is a great and motivating blog post. I just started to blog again last year after a 10+ year hiatus. I’m still in the phase of telling myself that it’s okay if only one person on the internet is going to read a new blog post.

This is awesome. I saw Napalm Death live at the Wacken Open Air back in 2009. They played pretty early (around noon) but did their best to energize the small crowd.

Usually I like dark mode, but this is a very good example how dark mode can be a pain in the a$$ for your eyes. I don’t know if it’s due to my ADHD, but the artifact with the gradient on the right side is even more annoying and distracting to my eyes/brain. 😅
