This documentary can be very interesting - let’s see, when they publish the full video(s) on Friday. Since they talk a@lot about the forks of @vscode.dev, i am curious if they properly outline, that VSCode itself is a fork. Let’s see. youtu.be/C0JzpWmu-j0

Do you remember “I am a Mac, I am a PC” ? It’s been more than 20 years now … and I thought, it’s even older. Do you know how many clips Apple aired back then? You’d be surprised, I bet. The answer is provided by this video. Worth watching ! youtu.be/iBof-aNaDa0

You are right. There is a niche option to donut like this - introduced in 7.somehting. But it breaks almost anything, so I don’t use it. But it looks great, indeed !

I've been working on a personal URL shortener. Using the free services from Cloudflare (Pages), GitHub (repo) and simple redirects, I've created something that is both simple and highly functional. Want to give it a try? Try "butz.io/42".

Same is true for modules. I compAILe them with a Glympse of an eye. But naming lasts for days. Example: How do you call a Cmdlet that deals with YT playlists? Find-, Search-, Get-Playlist ? The last one seems to fit until you see the necessity of: Get-YouTubePlayListItem

000

Thorsten Butz @thorsten.butz.io · 29/07/2026

Example : What’s a good umbrella term for all things you published - from videos to articles to books etc? Preferable a term that also works in different languages. AI might tell you „contributions“. Sounds a bit stiff. No comparable term in German. So you spent hours to thing about this.

Thorsten Butz @thorsten.butz.io · 29/07/2026

For years I wanted to update my website and make it static. Never found the time … so, let it wing … Now that AI makes eat suuuuper comfortable, I found out: it still takes a lot of time, to IMPROVE it, since improvements are so easy now - but time consuming. #firstworldproblems
